Sometimes, the best love stories start in the most unexpected place, and sometimes, they start on a dating app with someone you technically went to high school with.

We went to the same high school, but with a three year age difference, our paths never really crossed. Years later, a dating app decided to give us a second chance at meeting. And this time, we actually noticed each other.

For our first date, we went to Grana. Things were going pretty well… until he became convinced I was trying to get the valet guy’s number. In reality, I was simply trying to tip him through Venmo. A slightly awkward first impression, but thankfully, he decided to stick around anyway. 😂

Since then, we’ve shared countless adventures, memories, and trips together, but Amelia Island has always held a special place in our hearts. So it felt only fitting that, on April 11, 2025, at one of our favorite places, The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, he asked me to spend forever with him.

Of course, I said yes.

And now, almost exactly two years later, we’ll be back at the beginning of another chapter, this time surrounded by the people we love most, saying “I do” on April 10, 2027.

It’s funny to think that we once went to the same high school without ever knowing each other. Maybe we just needed a dating app, a little bad timing, and a misunderstood Venmo transaction to finally find our way to each other.
